In current pandemic situation, the whole world is continually in a changing situation. Similarly, education system of our country has also changed. This is very challenging for teachers as well as students. We have a good understanding of face-to-face classes because in our education system, the virtual classroom system is not introduced. When abruptly, we had to transfer face to face classes to the online system there are many issues and problems that we are facing being a student and teachers as well.
The major and foremost issue that we are facing is connectivity of internet as mostly students studying in universities are inhabitants of rural areas. In rural areas, the signals of sims are not even supporting the 3G system. How it may make a connection on Zoom and Google Meet. Another major issue is the expensive internet packages that are not in access of every student. Those students who are studying in public sector universities mostly belong to mediocre families. They cannot afford expensive packages.
If somehow, we will be able to resolve these issues, yet the clarity in lectures and understanding is still not possible. There is no proper system to manage the classes. There are classes of 50 to 100 students. This is a very difficult task to manage the huge strength of students. On the other way, students are also not willing to get knowledge based on the online system. They just connect Zoom class and leave without listening. They are enjoying holidays and prolong it without considering that it’s a major loss.
In my view as shopping malls, shopping centers are opened with sop’s why we would not consider that educational institutions are much important than every sector. And if we think that its time of closing institutions because the health of students and teachers are very important, we will have to make our online system better than we are running today. There should be a formal protocol in the establishment of an online system.
