A gateway to animal health and wealth

Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CUVAS) is a newly established institution of research and higher learning located in Bahawalpur. Bill of the university was passed by the Provincial Assembly of Punjab on March 14, 2018.
According to the notification issued by the Punjab Government, Veterinary College of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur will also be merged (with all its properties, rights and even faculty members) into Cholistan University.
This prestigious University of Pakistan has come into force with the objectives of promoting and stimulating animal health services and to make provisions for advanced teaching, research, diagnostic and treatment methodologies.
There had been some strange rumors going around about the functioning of this University, but now all the uncertainties about the future and functioning of this University have ended, as it has started its working in running month. No Objection Certificate (NOC) for its proper working has been issued by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
Initially, CUVAS is going to start four BS Degree Programs in Applied Microbiology, Zoology, Food Technology and Poultry Sciences. In near future it will conduct Postgraduate, MPhil and PhD courses in addition to short and long-term certificate/diploma courses in several Veterinary subjects.
After the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore, Cholistan University will be considered a premier and full-fledged University in Veterinary Sciences in the Punjab Province.The jurisdiction of the University is confined to the Punjab province, with special admission quota for the students of Southern Punjab.
CUVAS, fully residential academic institution of the country, is HEC and PVMC recognized Public Sector University with State of the Art newly constructed buildings and well equipped laboratories. Furthermore, CUVAS is established with the technical collaboration of Turkey and recruited highly qualified national and foreign trained faculty with 70% holding PhD degrees.The importance of the Cholistan University is above-board as it is located in the region rich in livestock and wildlife resources.
