A delegation of senior Professors from various French Universities, Paris Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and representatives of Campus France(French Agency for Higher Education, International Student Services and International Mobility) paid a courtesy visit to the French department, PU and met the faculty and students of BS and MA programs.
The delegation members were delighted to see the peaceful and green location of French department, its warm and convivial environment and young, brilliant students who exchanged views in French language. They highly praised the beautiful campus of PU and commented that they visited other institutions as well but they found PU the most beautiful among other institutions and universities of Lahore.
Dr. Saleha Nazeer apprised the delegation about different courses offered and the objectives of their academic programs at the French Department.
The members of the delegation appreciated various ongoing research projects of the French department. They were deeply impressed by the programs and the variety of courses offered at the department. They expressed that they were under the impression that French as a language only is being taught at the department but they found a lot more than simply teaching of a language.
They also stressed upon the need for developing linkages of students and faculty members with French universities by creating multiple opportunities to excel in this field. They highlighted the fact that almost 600 Pakistani students are studying in French universities which clearly indicates the interest of Pakistani student in France and French language. Therefore, France cannot ignore this region and is willing to facilitate Pakistani students for higher education in France. They were very keen to collaborate with the French department in different domains considering the latest international trends.
