PU to produce YES students

LAHORE: (August 7, 2018): Punjab University (PU) will establish Youth Entrepreneurial Societies (YES) in all teaching departments in order to promote innovative thinking and realization of student’s creation in small businesses. According to a notification the purpose to establish YES is to provide platform to students with opportunities that will enhance and develop entrepreneurial skills by realizing their potential of profitable opportunities.

In this regard PU Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), issued a notification to all the Heads of Departments to constitute Youth Entrepreneurial Society (YES) under the HEC and ORIC policy.

The Executive Council of Youth Entrepreneurial Society (YES) will comprise on at least seven members. A focal person of ORIC will be chief organizer while among the students there will be president, vice president, alumni coordinators, event coordinators, media coordinators and general secretary.

The main objective of society is to foster innovation in the students, enable students develop their entrepreneurship skills, build a network between students and business community, organize seminars and workshops on business plan activities, explore the creative angle of business management, convert new ideas into real projects and inculcate entrepreneurial behavior in students.

To promote the entrepreneurial spirit the best performing YES will be awarded prizes and certificate. The Director of ORIC Prof. Dr. Mahmood Saleem had issued this notification on Thursday, September 6, 2018.
