Reforms on the way in education system: Shafqat Mahmood

Reforms are on their way to bring education system in sync with market requirements said Minister for Federal Education Shafqat Mahmood.

Shafqat Mahmood said his ministry has already established linkages with the chambers of commerce and industry for the purpose, he said in his address in an occasion. He added that to ensure imparting of training to more and more people in different skills Annual Development Plan is being worked out.

He said training institutes throughout the country will be converted into centers of excellence to boost their performance and in this regard, five centers were to be established in all the provinces.

Along with this, a National Skill University is on its way too and with the cooperation of Turkey a Centre of Hospitality has been established for the promotion of tourism.

Shafqat Mahmood said the federal government is working in consonance with the provincial governments to upgrade education according to market needs.

Special Assistant Usman Dar on Youth Affairs said to the Prime Minister that the government is engaging the youth bulge in term of education, employment and social engagement for ensuring their vital contribution towards the development of the country.
