Mankind that believes partially or impartially in religion for getting the answers of questions, which are mostly asked about the existence of God; but the existence has been challenged by some scholars who are commonly known as atheists in recent times. We have many religions that are giving the answer to people about their inevitable questions related to God’s existence. All religions have their own specific origins. Some religions have been spread all over the world by different means. The most practiced Religions are: Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism and Buddhism. Undoubtedly, all religions have concept of ‘God’s existence’. A fierce debate has been started between religious leaders and atheists on the existence of God, yet no one has succeeded. Religious leaders are trying to prove the existence of God by interpreting the religious texts. On the other hand, atheists are rejecting the existence on account of their scientific arguments. Moreover, religious believers have a dilemma in their minds during balancing the argument that God’s existence never challenged throughout the history-how can be rejected now on the basis of scientific judgments, and they staunchly believe that their religious leaders are true in shaping the narrative of God’s existence. On the other side, atheists have rejected the religious arguments about existence by saying universe is working naturally without any force, that is attributed with God by religious believers. Moreover, they have rebuked the religion by arguing that religion is not source of peace in the world, but it is a factory of conflicts. In same way, it is commonly perceived by the atheists that religion resists the natural growth by applying moral and physical restrictions on natural instincts. In short, the debate on God’s existence between religious and atheists scholars is shaping the two extreme narratives in the world. In my opinion, if we carefully compare both scientific and religious thoughts, then it would be easy to develop a link that will provide a strong base to understand divergence and logical fallacies about God’s existence.
The idea behind this comparison is that it would be focused on the creation of universe in two ways: first to observecreation of universe in scientific way and second to comprehend that which force behind movement of universe. The comparison will merge two main themes, which are taken from the religious texts and the atheists’ scientific arguments. The atheists argued that universe, which is moving by natural laws, has no intentional force behind its movement; but it is explicit difference between atheists, some have argued that natural laws, which have been discovered by scientists, cannot be applied to understand the creation of universe. Hence, atheists claim that natural movement of the universe is the evidence of God’s absence. Moreover, this absence is generalized to all matters of life; and it did try to say, there is no God.
Conversely, religious texts claim that the universe is moving by the intentional forces of God. In Quran, it is clearly mentioned: “Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and then We separated them and made from water every living thing?” Then will they not believe?” (21:30). Therefore, religious scholars endorse the big bang phenomena for the universe creation, but they reject the atheists’ claim that the universe is working without any intentional force. There are many religions in the world, which are claiming that the universe is being run by God. Additionally, it is also believed by religious leaders that every movement in the world is directed by God, and He is operating the massive system of the universe. Hence, religious leaders rebuke the atheists’ idea of God’s absence in the universe.
Religious people believe in God’s existence and atheists claim about God’s absence have unfolded the two extreme ends on account of their orientations towards the creation of the universe. Religious and atheists are confronting each other on origin of universe, has started unending debate. Primarily, Atheists want to challenge all traditional and conventional beliefs that are hindering development of the world. In same way, they say that religious beliefs have restricted the abilities of people; because of unnatural religious-restrictions, which are imposed by the religious leaders, who are mostly myopic and Self-oriented. Moreover, atheists claimed that religion, which is considered a source of peace, is a factory of conflicts. On the other hand, religious believers argue that these restrictions are decrees of God to take the trials of people in the reward of holy Paradise: who will spend life under these rulings, being true believer of God, would be part of Paradise in the hereafter; who will spend life against these rulings would be part of hell. The crux of above discussion is that both religious believers and atheists have their own beliefs for survival in the world.
Could be there any possibility to make a consensus between religious leaders and atheists? The answer of previous questions is yes, because it is claimed by religious leaders that the universe is created by God, and it is also mentioned in Quran, “And the heaven We created with might, and indeed We are (its) expander” (51:47). In similar way, Edwin Hubble had claimed that the universe is expanding in 1929. This similarity in arguments about creation of universe suggests that the universe is expanding intentionally by the directions of God. The consensus between religious and atheists can be created; if atheists accept Quran’s claim about creation of universe that is relevant with today’s scientific observation, and they think this claim could not be made by man fourteen-century years ago.
So, this logical connection between religious text and scientific observation about creation of insinuated that religious leaders and atheists have their own personal differences towards each other instead of any core difference on God’s existence. The atheists conceived about religion that it has stopped the natural growth of human beings by applying unnatural religious-restrictions. Moreover, they perceived that the universe is following natural laws. On the other hand, religious leaders perceive that atheists’ argument about absence of God is blasphemy. Therefore, both religious believers and atheists can come at one page: if atheists believe that the universe is intentionally run by God instead of its natural movement, and religious leaders accept that they could not interpret the religious text in accordance with present demand, and both accept impartially the convergence of religious text and scientific observation about creation of universe that gives the clue of God’s existence.
