According to QS World Rankings 2021, only 7 Pakistani universities are ranked in top 1000 universities of the World.

University of the Punjab:
University of the Punjab is ranked as 7th top university of Pakistan and it lies between 801-1000 top universities of World, according to QS World Rankings 2021.
The University of the Punjab, also referred to as Punjab University, is a public research university located in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. Punjab University is the oldest public university in Pakistan. With multiple campuses in Gujranwala, Jhelum, and Khanspur, the university was formally established by the British Government after convening the first meeting for establishing higher education institutions in October 1882 at Shimla. Punjab University was the fourth university to be established by the British colonial authorities in the Indian subcontinent; the first three universities were established in other parts of British India.
There are 45,678 Students (27,907 Morning Students, 16,552 Evening Students and 1,219 Diploma Students) who attend the university, and Punjab University has a total of 13 faculties within which there are 83 academic departments, research centers, and institutes. Punjab University has ranked first among large-sized multiple faculty universities by the HEC in 2012. There are also two Nobel Laureates among the university’s alumni and former staff. Additionally, the university is also a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities of the United Kingdom.
University of Engineering and Technology:
University of Engineering and Technology, also abbreviated as UET, is ranked as 6th top university of Pakistan and it lies between 801-1000 top universities of World, according to QS World Rankings 2021.
The University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore (UET Lahore) is a public university located in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan specializing in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects. It is the oldest and one of the most selective engineering institutions in Pakistan. It is one of the best and most prestigious engineering universities of Pakistan where more than 50,000 students apply for admission every year.
COMSATS University Islamabad:
COMSATS University Islamabad is ranked as 5th top university of Pakistan and it lies between 801-1000 top universities of World, according to QS World Rankings 2021.
The COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), formerly known as COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT), is a public university in Pakistan. It is a multi-campus university with its principal seat located in Islamabad. COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) is under the administration of Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South. CIIT is ranked amongst the top 10 universities of Pakistan as per HEC recent rankings. It is also a member of Association of Commonwealth Universities Its main campus, located in Islamabad, has over 8,500 students and 30,000 more students in its 6 satellite campuses. Its student body also includes international students from over 9 countries. It has 20 departments which combined offer 100 degree programs and has since inception produced over 315 PhDs. It has also established the country’s first ever Student Startup Business Center (SSBC) to support and promote entrepreneurship and innovation in its academic environment.
Lahore University of Management Sciences:
Lahore University of Management Sciences is ranked as 4th top university of Pakistan and it lies between 651-700 top universities of World, according to QS World Rankings 2021.
Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) is a private, research university located in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. The university has a student body of approximately 4,000 graduate and undergraduate students, a faculty of 248 out of which nearly three-quarters have doctoral degrees. Its campus, where more than half of its student population and faculty lives, spreads over 100 acres. Its business school is accredited by AACSB in Pakistan. It is also one of two business schools in Pakistan to be certified by the South Asian Quality Assurance System and is ranked as one of the top business schools in the country. The university is also a member of Association of Commonwealth Universities.
Quaid-e-Azam University is ranked as 3rd top university of Pakistan and it is ranked as 454th top university of World, according to QS World Rankings 2021. Quaid-I-Azam University Islamabad (founded as University of Islamabad) is a public research university in Islamabad, Pakistan. Founded as the University of Islamabad in 1967, it was initially dedicated to the study of postgraduate education but expanded through the 1980s to an interdisciplinary university offering undergraduate and postgraduate education. The university has, as of 2015, grown into the largest varsity in Islamabad with a total enrollment exceeding 13,000 students. The university is on a 1700 acres (or 6.9 km²) campus on the foothills of the Margalla.

Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences:
PIEAS is ranked as 2nd top university of Pakistan and it is ranked as 373th top university of World, according to QS World Rankings 2021.
The Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) is a public research university located in Nilore, Islamabad, Pakistan. The university is modelled on international standards with a focus on the scientific advancement of the nuclear science-related STEM fields and medical science. Founded in 1967 as Reactor School from the sponsorship of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission in response to support and manage the nuclear energy infrastructure in the country, the institute started its educational activities with the affiliation of Quaid-e-Azam University, and became Centre for Nuclear Studies (CNS) in 1976; the center gained its new name and became independent in 1997.
In 2000, PIEAS was granted the status of a degree awarding institute. PIEAS is based on a 150 acres (0.61 km2; 0.23 sq mi) campus and has around 135 full-time faculty members.
National University of Engineering and Technology:
NUST Islamabad is ranked as Top university of Pakistan and it is ranked as 355th top university of World, according to QS World Rankings 2021.
The National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) is a public research university under administration of Pakistan Armed Forces with its main campus in Islamabad, Pakistan. The university offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, including doctoral and professional degrees. Founded in 1991, it was initially formed for the need of commissioned officers by combining engineering colleges and schools of Pakistan Armed Forces. Later, it was converted into a public research university with the main campus setup in Islamabad to promote science and technology in Pakistan.
Founded to provide quality technical education for rapid industrialization in Pakistan, NUST adopted an American university model and stressed laboratory instruction in applied science and engineering. It has since played a key role in the development of standardization in education of fields such as engineering, mathematics, and technology in Pakistan and is widely known for its innovation and academic strength, making it one of the most prestigious institutions of higher learning in Pakistan. The university is also home to an under-construction International Association of Science Parks (IASP) certified National Science and Technology Park.
