All Pakistan Entrepreneur Gala 2018

LAHORE: (Thursday, February 8, 2018): All Pakistan Entrepreneur Gala jointly organized by Punjab University Hailey College of Commerce, State Bank of Pakistan, SMEDA and Women Chamber of Commerce at Hailey college’s lawn on Thursday.Punjab Minister for Higher Education Syed Raza Ali Gillani, Punjab Higher Education Commission Chairman Prof Dr Nizamuddin, PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zakria Zakir, Managing Director State Bank of Pakistan Qasim Nawaz, President Women Chamber of Commerce Falahat Imran, MKRMS Chairman Wasif Nagi, industrialists, Principal Hailey College Dr Hassan Mobeen, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion. As many as 144 stalls of students from various parts of country were set up in which they presented various business ideas. Ten thousand per stall was charged from stall holders.

There were stalls of event managing, home decore, handi crafts, jewelry and eateries like Bar.B.Q, shakes, icecreams, ‘Pani puri’ Scrumptious fruit salads and ‘dahi bhalas’ Vistors were tilted towards live Bar. B.Q, other eateries and jewelry and clothing stalls.

The event was sponsored by many well-known companies they also had stalls in the event. Lunch was arranged for students on stalls and faculty members.

Punjab Minister for Higher Education Syed Raza Ali Gillani Punjab Higher Education Commission Chairman Prof Dr Nizamuddin, PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zakria Zakir, visited stalls.

The Entrepreneur Gala was organized for the 2nd time by Hailey College. The stalls were actually projects of students of Hailey college (M.com and B.com). Stalls included the foodies, jewelry, clothing’s etc. A platform was given to the students for exposure and to promote creativity and self employment as Punjab Minister for Higher Education Syed Raza Ali Gillani has said that

There was need to promote the idea of entrepreneurship so that students could become job givers instead of job seekers. He said that a modern educational system was being developed to replace rote learning and promote creative ideas. Moreover he added that women should be provided equal opportunities this will ensure the development of Pakistan no country in the world could compete Pakistan if we work with dedication, devotion, commitment and patriotism.

Whereas, PHEC Chairman Dr Nizamuddin stated

That the government did not have sufficient resources to give employment to each and every person so that PHEC was taking several initiatives for commercialization of innovative ideas of the talented students. He congratulated organizers on successfully organizing the event.

Principal Hailey College Dr Hassan Mobeen said that:

This event has been organized for the 2nd time in Hailey College. They have tried their best to provide a platform to students so they can learn and show their capabilities. More he added that this gala was self funded. 

All the chief guests and students had same opinion on entrepreneurship that there is need to promote entrepreneurship programs in our academic institutions so every one can express themselves and can show there skills and ideas that they can exercise in practical life.

Later, prizes were distributed among the winners of the entrepreneur stall.

Students on the front stalls were happy and said they were evaluated and got a good response from their instructors and guests while students on the last stalls showed resentment that the last stalls were not evaluated as compare to the front stalls.
