Sir: Every public college and university provides self-supporting programmes in which students pay more fees that is almost equal to that of private institutions. Teachers pay more attention to these programmes as they are paid more for these evening classes. Teachers don’t even care about the morning classes in which students, who get admission based on merit, study. In our public educational institutions, morning students are left without teachers most of the time, as teachers care more about their financial interest and take only evening, self-support programmes.
