PU CSAS organizes seminar

Lahore: (Friday, May 11, 2018): Punjab University Center for South Asian Studies (CSAS) has organized a seminar on “The Geo Strategic Dimensions and Post 9/11 Afhanistan” here on Friday. Expert on Afghanistan, intelligence and international security Brig (r) Ishaq Ahmed was the key note speaker while Director CSAS Prof Dr Umbreen Javaid, faculty members, MPhil/PhD scholars and students were also present on the occasion.

In his address, Brig (r) Ishaq Ahmed shed light on the history of Afghanistan along with actinic distribution and its impact on Pak-Afghan ties. He elucidated the strategic dimensions of Afghanistan in the region and elaborated the major events which occurred in Afghanistan after 9/11. He also explained the reasons behind US intervention in Afghanistan and its withdrawal strategy. He gave various possible recommendations to bring peace and prosperity in the region as a whole.
