UVAS wins drama, PU grabs top slot in poetry

Danish Schools RYK and DG Khan shines in poetry in schools category

LAHORE: (Wednesday, April 19, 2017): Competitions of poetry, national songs and drama/theatre were held on the 3rd day of The Educationist All Pakistan Co-Curricular Competitions 2017 organized by The Educationist in collaboration with HEC and Punjab University at Institute of Education Research, University of the Punjab and Punjab Institute of Language, Art and Culture.

The top positions of poetry in schools category, both Urdu and English, were grabbed by Daanish School Girls Hasilpur, Bahawalpur and Punjab Danish School, DG Khan re
spectively.

At university level Maryam Nazish of Lahore College for Women University won in English poem competitions while Hafiz Kashif Nadeem from PU Oriental College topped in Urdu poem contest.

Ahmad Hammad, Nauman Ali, Hafiz Muhammad Junaid Raza and Dr. Abdul Qayyum Chaudhry were guests in the poetry and national songs competitions.

PAANCA, dramatic team from University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences earned Best Play Award while University of Lahore team was declared runner up team. Best script award went to PU Department of Pharmacy.

In national songs competition, 61 teams from various institutes participated in two categories of school and college/universities out of which 24 teams qualified for finale of national songs which will be held tomorrow (Thursday).

Audience cheered and enjoyed the victory of winning teams and appreciated those who did their best in these contests.
