ISLAMABAD: UNESCO Country Director in Pakistan Vibeke Jensen has urged the provincial governments of Pakistan to take concrete steps for achieving the target of attaining of optimum literacy rate.

She said that prudent policies of the government have resulted in reducing the dropout rate of children from the schools in Pakistan and the developing country was ambitious in attaining 90 per cent target under the vision 2025.

The UNESCO country director said that Pakistan has already achieved the target of attaining 60 percent literacy rate ahead of 2025.
