Lahore: (April 3, 2018): Punjab University Institute of Social & Cultural Studies has organized an awareness seminar on “Cancer Prevention through Healthy Lifestyle” on Tuesday. Prof. Dr. Rubeena Zakar, Chairperson, Cancer Care & Research Center Prof. Dr. Shaharyar, faculty members and students were present on the occasion. Dr Rubeena Zakar talked about social determinants of health leading to cancer. She said that Pakistan was expecting double burden of disease having communicable and non-communicable disease and cancer were increasing at alarming rate in Pakistan. She said that we could only protect our self by living a healthy life. Dr. Shaharyar delivered an extensive talk on cancer prevention and talked about breast cancer, lungs cancer, blood cancer etc. He also discussed that cancer care hospital provided free of cost mammography service to breast cancer patient.
