Minhaj University Lahore and Punjab Higher Education Department organized a two-day international conference on ‘Religious Pluralism and World Peace’, which was attended by scholars of global repute.

Addressing the conference, the scholars said that no religion allows or sanctions terrorism. They said that if injunctions of a religion are followed in letter and spirit, no place will be left for terrorism and extremism in the world. They said that a true follower of any religion cannot be a terrorist. They argued that terrorism and extremism can be controlled with initiation of a dialogue among nations. They appreciated the initiative of Minhaj University for organizing a conference on such an important topic.

The international scholars also praised the efforts and contributions of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri for international peace. Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, vice chairman of Board of Governors of Minhaj University Lahore, thanked the scholars for attending the conference and sharing their thoughts with the participants of the conference. He said that the people of Pakistan reject exclusion, hatred and religious bigotry. They are of the view that Islamic teachings do not admit of any extremism and radicalism. He said that MUL has started the initiative of a dialogue, a process which will be taken forward.

Dr Aslam Ghouri, vice chancellor of MUL, presented the welcome address in which he threw light on the aims and objectives of the Conference.

Dr Harman, head of School of Religions MUL, said in his remarks that the people of Pakistan are peaceful and love their religion. He said that love and harmony are the shared messages of every religion.
