LAHORE: As many as 16 judges of the Lahore High Court have been appointed Member Syndicate in various public and private sector universities in Punjab province after the approval of LHC chief justice in a meeting held recently.
According to the decision LHC CJ Ijaz-Ul-Ahsan will serve as Member Syndicate University of Engineering and Technology Lahore, Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah in LUMS & Agriculture University Faisalabad, Justice Farrukh Irfan Khan in University of Education Lahore. Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Nqvi will be member of syndicate in KEMU, Justice Khalid Mahmood Khan & Justice Shahid Hameed Dar in PU University Law College, Justice Yawar Ali in NCA, Justice Anwar-ul-Haq in Punjab University, Justice Qasim Khan in BZU Multan, Justice Mazahar Iqbal Sindhu in University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Justice Mahmood Maqbool Bajwa in UET Texila, Justice Aminudin Khan in Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture Multan. Justice Ameer Bhatti in Islamia University Bahawalpur, Justice Abdurrahman Lodhi in Pir Meher Ali Shah University Rawalpindi, Justice Shujjat Ali Khan in GCU Lahore and Justice Aliya Neelam will be LCWU syndicate member.
In is worthy to note that University Syndicate is the supreme body and its non-elected members are appointed for a period of three years, while representatives from university are elected through election for a term of three years.
