Bomb blast: Citizens urged to share intelligence information

Students criticize India’s role in terrorist activities in Pakistan

LAHORE (Thursday, April 6, 2017): Punjab University teachers and students have condemned the Wednesday’s suicide bomb blast while censuring the government and stressing that the citizens were equally responsible for intelligence sharing.

The recent suicide attack that targeted a census team on Bedian Road in the Defense B claimed six lives including four army personnel.

Teachers and students from different departments of the Punjab University talked to The Educationist and criticized the suicide bomb attackers and failure of government regarding on tightening the security.

Institute of administrative Science (IAS) Dr. Sobia Khurram condemned that ‘Terrorist are cowardice it’s not easy to eradicate terrorism from grass root level. I think NAP (National Action Plan) can be fruitful to obviate the terrorism from country if our military and government will work seriously.”

Dr. Lubna Shaheen, an assistant professor of Institute of Communication Studies, said, “This attack shows the failure of law enforcement agencies, we should work together to eradicate the terrorist activities. Media need to spread awareness among public.

Similarly, students also expressed their thoughts on the blast. Umar Shabir, from ICS, said, “It’s not bravery to attack upon those who are doing census, if they (attackers) think they are very smart and brave they should fight directly with our army, otherwise it is a cowardly act.”

Miss Rida opined that ‘Some international organizations have hands besides these severe attacks.’ Nepali student Sanskriti Acharya studying in ICS said that ‘If feel bad, terrorist attack has been highlighting Pakistan and looks as Pakistan is not safe place to live. Security of Pakistan is not providing much protection.’

Suhib Ali, a student of Institute of administrative Science (IAS) termed it a ‘pitiful incident’ and said it is a failure of the security agencies.

Another student from IAS namely Tahwar Abbas said, “Our government has failed to give the protection to protectors of the nation. Islam totally condemns all terrorist activities.  Iftkhar Ahmad, a student of sociology department, condemned the blast by expressing his anger over Lahore bomb blast, which he said was a joint venture of terrorists including Ashraf Ghani of Afghanistan and prime minister of India Modi.

On the other hand Natasha Tahir, a student of Institute of Education and Research, blamed the government. She said, “It is complete carelessness of the government of Mian Nawaz Sharif. Therefore he should resign from the prime minister post because most of the bomb blasts have been occurred during the Sharif regime.” Likewise, Khurram Khan, a student of Gender Studies, also criticized Pakistan government and India’s role. He said, “India made suicide bomb blast in Lahore to thwart the national census of Pakistan and help panama case of Sharif’s court to reflect attention of the media and people.’
