ISLAMABAD: The British High Commission has announced 400 per cent increase in the Chevening scholarships for Pakistanis students this year as last year, only 17 students were awarded scholarships while this year 73 hopefuls got this award.
He was addressing a pre-departure ceremony for 73 selected Pakistani students who will pursue a master’s degree in the UK under Chevening scholarships.
“Pakistan remains one of the top-priority countries for Chevening rewards, which is precisely why Pakistan has seen the biggest increase in the number of Chevening scholars anywhere in the world. This shows the importance the United Kingdom puts in its relationship with Pakistan,” said British High Commissioner Philip Barton, at whose residence the ceremony was held.
