January 29, 2018: Construction of BNU Hostels commences at Tarogil Campus Chairperson, BNU, Board of Governors, Mrs. Nasreen Mahmud Kasuri inaugurated the construction of the on-campus boarding facility at Tarogil Campus in a brick-laying ceremony on Monday.
Present at the occasion was the Vice Chancellor, Mr. Shahid Hafiz Kardar along with Deans, Prof. Dr. Gulzar Haider, Prof. Dr. Tariq Rahman, Prof. Rashid Rana, Prof. Dr. Ruhi Khalid, Prof. Dr. Khaver Zia and Prof. Dr. Taimur-ul- Hassan and members of the university management. Although BNU has been managing two separate hostel facilities (for girls and boys)at different locations in the city, the university has been aiming to provide a purpose-built on-campus accommodation to students with state-of- the art facilities within the safe and secure environment of its campus.
The hostels shall be completed in three phases. The Phase I of construction will be completed in 18 months to provide for 42,000 sq. ft. of segregated facilities to house 74 girls and 80 boys. Each facility will have a common room, a visitor’s lounge and a laundry. A separate facility to house eight faculty members has also been included in this phase. The three phases when completed will cater to on-campus accommodation and boarding facilities for over 350 students besides hostel wardens and international faculty within the university premises.
