Pass result remains 71.48%, 2,14,711 candidates appeared

LAHORE : The board of intermediate and secondary education Lahore (BISE) has announced the result of matriculation 2016. The boys of Divisional Public School (DPS) grasped all the top positions in overall category of Lahore board. Similarly boys lead in science group but in humanities group girls outclassed boys.

Rana Omer Ferman scored 1087 and got 1st position in Lahore Board, M Shayan Waheed pulled 1085 marks and stood on 2nd position while Syed Momin Ali and Hussnain Mushtaq grabbed 3rd Position after scoring 1085. All the students were belong to DPS and science group. On the other hand, Semil Saleem of Punjab Girls High School ranked top with 1083 marks among girls.
Meanwhile, in humanities group Iqra from Allama Iqbal Public High School for Girls, Kasuar, scored 1067 marks and stood 1st and Sabir Ali of Pakistan Model High School secured 1034 marks to grab 1st position among boys.
According to BISE there were overall 2,14,711 candidates appeared in the matriculation exam and 153478 successfully passed, so the percentage of passing is 71.48 %. The award ceremony was held at Al-hamra Hall, while Punjab Education Minister for Schools Rana Mashood was the chief guest.
