Dr. Tahir Mehmood Leads Successful PKR 18 Million Dairy Development Project

Dr. Tahir Mehmood, Associate Professor, CAMB, PU successfully completed the project worth PKR 18 million, funded by Pakistan- Netherland Dairy Development Centre, as Co-PI. Dr. Tahir Mehmood as a biochemist helped to evaluate the nutritional value of loose milk samples collected from 11 major cities across Pakistan. A nationwide survey (winter and summer season) on milk quality and safety found most of the loose milk samples non-compliant with regulatory standards. The results were disseminated in a closing ceremony held at Avari Hotel, Lahore on October 24, 2023. The UVAS acknowledged the contributions of Co-PIs and presented souvenirs as a token of appreciation and valuable contribution. In addition, all media houses were there to cover the gathering on all national channels. The Vice Chancellors of UVAS and Education University, Lahore and president Pakistan Medical Association, Lahore appreciated the team work done by PI and Co-PIs and acknowledged hard work and dedication of the research team. They especially appreciated the efforts of scientists from different universities including Dr. Tahir Mehmood from the University of the Punjab-Lahore to help in the accomplishment of the project. We, the whole community of CAMB, PU are delighted to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Tahir Mehmood on this feat.
