LAHORE: Lahore Garrison University (LGU) organised a seminar on ”Importance of Digital Forensic in Crime Solving”. The purpose of seminar was to provide awareness about the importance, significance and need of digital forensics in modern era. Former Governor Punjab Lt-Gen (r) Khalid Maqbool was the chief guest, whereas DG NAB Lahore Maj (r) Syed Burhan, Special Police Teams from Lahore and Islamabad, representatives from FIA participated in the event.
Participants and Speakers of seminar appreciated the Initiative of establishing a much needed Digital Forensic Research and Service Center. Digital Forensic will also be helpful in investigation of crimes and countering cybercrimes, especially after the approval of cybercrime bill its significance has further increased.

Lahore Garrison University Vice Chancellor Maj-Gen (r) Obaid Bin Zakria envisioned it to be one of the leading innovative information technology education provider in the region. “Establishment of DFRSC is one of the important milestone towards achieving this goal.”
DFRSC will conduct research, surveys, trainings, certifications, degree programs and publish white papers on various fields of digital forensics and cyber security. It is the first center of its kind in Pakistan and intends to extend its services to the region.
Mr. Kaukab Jamal Zuberi, the founding chairman of International Association of Digital Forensic Experts (IADFE) is the Director of DFRSC.
