Group discussion on political issues held at PU

LAHORE: (December 18, 2017):  A group discussion about youth perceptions and attitudes towards democratic participation, governance, public policy issues and elections held at Center for South Asian Studies, University of the Punjab here on Monday.

In this group discussion more than two dozen students participated from different departments including Institute of Communication Studies, political science, sociology and College of Earth and Environmental Sciences.

Azeema Cheema, a known entrepreneur, gathered students’ responses on the subject through a questionnaire on different political issues.

The motive of the discussion was to create an awareness among the youth about the political issues. There were several topics discussed in the group such as issues people having in vote casting, rights of minorities, duties of a state, why people are disappointed with political parties etc.

The discussion was very healthy and youth actively participated by putting forward their ideas and experiences besides suggesting some remedies.
