LAHORE( January 22, 2025): A civil court heard a Rs 50 million defamation case between the two wives of the late Syed Mubarak Ali Shah Gilani, the head of the Muslim of America organization, and his alleged role in the Daniel Pearl kidnapping and murder case.

Civil Judge Mahmood Alam called for arguments from plaintiff Zainab Gilani’s lawyer on February 24.

The court expressed its anger and asked plaintiff lawyer why he did not come prepared.

Respondent Lawyer Abdullah Malik took the position that despite submitting an affidavit at the police station, plaintiff Zainab Gilani and her father Barry Adam harassed defendant Naima Gilani to scare her into giving up her inheritance and organizational powers.

The lawyer also presented certified documents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation of the United States in the court regarding Barry Adam’s guilt.

The lawyer took the position that Zainab Gilani and her father have usurped inherited properties worth billions of rupees and the administrative powers of the organization.Lawyer Abdullah Malik further argued that being defamation claim is false and baseless, so it is prayed that the court dismiss the case with a heavy fine.
