March 15, 2018: Indian Peace Activist, O.P. Shah visits Beaconhouse National University. Renowned peace activist and political analyst, Mr. O.P. Shah visited Beaconhouse National University on Thursday, March 15. He was accompanied by Member of the Board of Governors, BNU, Mr. Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri (Ex-Foreign Minister of Pakistan).
During his visit to BNU, Mr. Shah met with the Vice Chancellor, Mr. Shahid Hafiz Kardar, Deans and faculty. He also delivered a talk at the university auditorium attended by faculty and students. Mr. Shah has been an active social activist in India and his work in Kashmir and other conflicted areas are noteworthy. He visited J&K 100 times in the past 25 years and spent considerable time with people in distress, visiting jails, interrogation centers and refugee camps. He has also taken several initiatives like Citizens Fast, marches and discussions against corruption, black money and political violence.
He is the Chairman of the Center for Peace & Progress and has been working resolutely for racial and communal harmony, national integration,politics of consensus, probity in public life, peace in the South Asia region.
