Political interference in universities will not be tolerated: Prime Minister

Islamabad, March 14, 2019: Prime Minister Imran Khan has shown serious concern over reports of political interference in higher education sector of the country. In a discussion with Dr.Tariq Banuri, Chairman HEC, the Prime Minister has directed HEC to identify all such practices and has assured his all-out support to curb this menace and make systems completely transparent at all levels of higher education sector.

The Chairman HEC thanked the Prime Minister for his concerns and support. He assured the Prime Minister that HEC will continue to play an affirmative role for increasing access to higher education, improve its quality and ensure its relevance to socio-economic needs of the country.
