For around 40 years, the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is the premiere global programming competition conducted by and for the worlds universities also known as World Cup of Programming. The competition operates under the auspices of ACM, is sponsored by IBM, and is headquartered at Baylor University. ACM-ICPC is the worlds first, largest and most prestigious international competition where a team of 3 from each geographic region or country first compete in their respective ACM-ICPC Regional contest. The winning teams of each region then qualify to compete in the subsequent ACM-ICPC World Finals, held annually. It was a real moment of pride for all of us that a team from UMT had won the ACM —ICPA Asia Lahore regional contest and became one of the World Finalists.
The Asia Lahore Regional ACM Collegiate Programming Contest was first launched in 2014 by Dr. Umar Suleman at FAST National University, Lahore.
