
Depression egression is a mental illness characterized by persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and a lack of interest in activities that were previously enjoyable. Depression can lead to suicidal thoughts behaviors if left untreated. According to a study published in the Journal of Pakistan Medical Association, the prevalence of depression in Lahore was found to be around 34%.
Depression and suicide are significant issues in Lahore, Pakistan. Lahore is one of the largest cities in Pakistan and has a population of over 12 million people. While there are no exact statistics on the prevalence of depression and suicide in Lahore, it is estimated that there is a high incidence of both.
The study also found that depression was more common among women than men, with around 37% of women experiencing depression compared to 30% of men. Additionally, the study found that depression was more prevalent among people who were divorced or widowed, had low levels of education, and lived in low-income areas
(Suicide is not a good option)
Suicide is a major public health concern in Lahore as well. The Punjab Mental Health Authority has established several mental health facilities in Lahore, including the Punjab Institute of Mental Health and the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. Additionally, there are number of a non- governmental organizations that provide counseling and support services to individuals struggling with mental health issues In response to the high rates of depression and suicide in Lahore, mental health professionals and organizations have been working to increase awareness and improve access to mental health services
The world is a house of trials, it is wise to be patient and bear the cruel life It is a mistake to abandon life and embrace death because of depression.
